Short Story Bingo 13 - "Dancing Like We're Dumb"
Friday Nov 03, 2017
Friday Nov 03, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read - once again - out of, "The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror 23"!
Happy Halloween...AGAIN! Another month is in the books ladies and gentleman, that's right, 2018 is that much closer. Thinking of your resolutions yet? Me either. I say, worry about the present. The verb present, which is what you are receiving with another episode of, Short Story Bingo! This story, is my favorite to date. "Dancing Like We're Dumb" is written by Peter Atkins, who also wrote, Hellraiser: II, III, IV! In a very modern tale in LA, you can feel, smell, and picture vividly. I swear, this story had me from the first sentence, as it begins with a description of a carjacking in literally something that I would have wrote for like a GTA bit or something. It stays very compelling throughout, weaving in and out of the present and five hours before to detail how Kitty got in the position she is now. Please excuse my little sniffles every now and again, I am a tad under the weather but made sure to get this out for YOU, 'cause i'm a soldier and no mucus will hold me down!

Short Story Bingo 12 - "They Die Nameless"
Friday Oct 27, 2017
Friday Oct 27, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read another gem from, "The Creepypasta Collection"!
Happy Halloween! Yes, this time of the year always provides a good spook or two, candy that you hope hasn't been opened, and scary stories to scare your friends or yourself with. We dive back into the CreepyPasta series with this episode. "They Die Nameless", is a story that captivates and low-key educates at the same time. I was intorduced to new historical figures in Akhenaten, Sekhmet, and King Tut's dead miscarriages. Yeah, I said it. Well, technically the story says it. Anywho, I am very happy to be back on track, shout out to Canada as the newest leader in DL's amongst countries other than the US. This story is chilling. Not much to add to that, except, imagine fading into nothingness. Losing all your friends, family, etc... This story follows a very eager, drivern, and young scholar who fell in love with his career. Curiosity get's the better of him and well, he opened pandora's box, which in this case is a sarcophagus. You will hear what I am talking about. It gets funky...quick!

Short Story Bingo 11 ( W/ Dirty Pete) - “The Tower”
Friday Oct 20, 2017
Friday Oct 20, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read out of, "The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror 23"!
I strolled my happy ass into Barnes and noble recently to go pick up, "The Art of the Donald". Seriously - I did. Instead I got lost in the short stories and damn mystery/horror section again. Mind you, after watching, "IT" I was itching to read something scary. So, in short, fuck you Donald, a short ass fictional story won that purchase escapade. I quickly was enthralled with all the new authors I was being introduced to, the new takes on horror, and just a big ass book full of content to introduce to you all! Mark Samuels has a very expansive vocabulary and a way to breakdown a location so well. "The tower" will show you that. In my attempt to pronounce words that I was just reading whilst also keeping pace with the momentus story line was a pleasure. This is a psychological thriller, which is not a spoiler, just saying don't expect anything all gory and overly apt to depict a ghoul that is at times way to over the top anyway.

Short Story Bingo 10 - "Tim 'Doc' Anderson"
Tuesday Aug 08, 2017
Tuesday Aug 08, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read out of, "The United States of Absurdity" about Tim 'Doc' Anderson!
This book, "The United States of Absurdity" has quickly become my favorite. Mostly I think because I love "The Dollop" podcast by Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds. Nonetheless, this story they portray of a man that just wanted to have a real shot at being a big time boxer in Tim Anderson is kind of heartbreaking. Currently serving a life sentence from a murder charge that he does not remember even committing , he has quite the story of rise and fall. I sit alone on this one. This may be the last one on my home setup as I am working out a deal with a local studio for the podcast. BUT if it is not...I thank you for dealing with these stories in not the most ideal recording environment. S/O to Japan!

Short Story Bingo 9 (W/ Will Wonder) - "A True Story"
Thursday Aug 03, 2017
Thursday Aug 03, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode Mr. Mark damn Twain makes another IMPRESSIONABLE appearance with, "A True Story"!
Originally released in 1874 and titled, "A True Story, Repeated Word for Word As I Heard It." This is written in the language of a slave woman of the times who is dealing with a very damaging experience of her son being taken away from her at his early age. Now I must say that I was very, 'in character', as I read this one and loved every second of it. My friend Will Wonder and I had a hard time understanding some phrases and what have you but we still managed to get through the story with some laughs, some cring worthiness, and just another round fun with a great story to read! Short Story Bingo 8 (W/ Will Wonder) - "A Dream of Red Hands"
Sunday Jul 16, 2017
Sunday Jul 16, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we take a dive into the mind of infamous Bram Stoker in , "A Dream of Red Hands"!
This story is not quite, "dracula", which is not what I was expecting as it was anyhow. But I will tell you that this certainly takes an emotionally short rollercoaster of its own. I was joined in this episode by my good friend and DJ, Will Wonder (@DJWillwonder), him and I share some laughs whilst being taken aback at the progression of the characters. Being that this story was originally published in 1894 I am surprised at the longevity of it, asin, that it stil reads well today. Short Story Bingo 7 (W/ Ben Stine) - "The Sandman" (CreepyPasta)
Sunday Jul 09, 2017
Sunday Jul 09, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read another creepypasta classic, "The Sandman"!
We are back in action you beutiful people! Creepypasta.com is a gold mine for some of the creepiest stories I haveever read. "The Sandman" provides a look into a dark fear of losing something so close and not having the power to reverse things. Wonderfully written by Tam Lin, we are taken down a path of no return. While I was hoping James, the father, would have just taken his son Daniel out of the home to help the situation, I understood that the story would not have had the same impact...obviously. My good friend Ben Stine and I sit down, have a few laughs, a few adult beverages, and a whole lotta fun! Press play, enjoy, like, share, rate and subscribe!

Short Story Bingo 6 (W/ Angie Chacon) - "The Comedy of Errors"
Friday Jun 30, 2017
Friday Jun 30, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read a little Billy Shakespeare in, "The Comedy of Error's"! Buckle up.
Back in the building and ready to rock as always for the SSB audience! We dive into the mind of William Shakespeare. Truly a patriarch for writing playwrights, it was a must to and will be in the future of course reading the stories that he depicts. I was a little weary about messing up names as that can be the case with vintage ones like Aegeon! This story starts a little confusing, especially if you were to just read through it. But, because we don't do that over here I was able to slow the pace a little so that we can all witness this story come to life. Two brothers, two servants, one father, one mother, and one "fat friend"...Angie and I dive into this head first, you'll be glad you joined! Press play, enjoy, like, share, and subscribe!

Short Story Bingo 5 (Read by Angie Chacon) - "The Drum"
Friday Jun 30, 2017
Friday Jun 30, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode, I let my guest, Angie, read another tale from Alvin Schwartz, "The Drum"!
We are back and better than ever ladies and gents. I have some new equipment that is going to make new episodes even easier for you all! In this installment, I let my little sister, Angie, who happens to be in town, read a story. Being that it was her first time, she was a little nervous but ended up totally nailing this bizarre story of two little girls that obsess over a drum that is really not that neat at all. Nonetheless, we have multiple laughs in this one from Alvin Schwartz. It seems like he just endsd his stories which make you wanting more - every...single...time. We enjoyed some cherry coke, the pleasure of warmly baked chocolate cookies, and just some general banter in this gem. Enjoy, press play, like, share, subscribe!

Short Story Bingo 4 - "A Ghost Story"
Friday May 19, 2017
Friday May 19, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read from one of many stories of Mark Twain's, "A Ghost Story"!
Classic writing is not at a loss here or ever on Short Story Bingo! Mark Twain is officially in the building on this silly ass podcast and is not leaving anytime soon. Today we read, "A Ghost Story'. This humorist wrote yet another gem. I would tell you everything but then why the hell would I have recorded the audio? Just kidding. This is a story of a giant that was alledgedly buried under a building that was not ever REALLY found, but it became such a news story that Mark Twain wrote about it. Hell, P.T. Barnum made a replica of it because he knew it would sell! Capitlaism at its finest! Enjoy another installment, share, like, and subscribe!

Short Story Bingo 3 - "Jeff The Killer" (CreepyPasta)
Wednesday Apr 12, 2017
Wednesday Apr 12, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read from a story from creepypasta.com, "Jeff The Killer"!
I'll admit. I have been distant from creepypasta for too long. That is why when my friend Alex suggested I read a story from their I damn near hit myself because it is LOADED with gold! This story is no different and beyond that is a cult classic, at least in the internet age. This story has been changed, updated, re-done, I don't know how many times but the original has always been creepy as fuck! Sit back, relax, enjoy some popcorn, a beer, or whatever the hell it is you do when you listen to your podcasts. Enjoy, please share with your firends, like and subscribe and let's get the word out!

Short Story Bingo 2 - "Shadow - A Parable"
Friday Mar 31, 2017
Friday Mar 31, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read from the, "Complete Tales and Stories of Edgar Allen Poe" by Edgar Allen Poe.
As we all know, Poe was very influential in his works of short stories, parables, and poems. In that he created a genre of writing that was not soon forgotten. I might crown him essentially the horror novelist of his time and perhaps the century. The ideas he had and told were beyond captivating or mind boggling, I say more thought provoking if nothing else. The story I read today, "Shadow - A Parable" is no different. In what could only be explained as a scary story for kids during the time of the plague and to instill fear of going outside to not be infected, this parable hits deep as it contains, "The Shadow". This character as you will find out bears the voice of thousands of dead that have fallen before the 7 youth. This should be a good one...Enjoy as I take on another story that will make you laugh and cringe a little.

Sunday Mar 26, 2017
Sunday Mar 26, 2017
*Explicit Content* In this episode we read from the third installment of the "Scary Stories" series by Alvin Schwartz.
Welcome to the pilot episode of "Short Story Bingo"!
In this episode I read, "The Trouble" from, "Scary Stories 3: More tales to chill your bones". Alvin Schwartz was a man beyond his time and knew exactly how to frighten a child using folklore passed down and retold in his matter of fact way. This story is no different. I am accompanied by my friend Pete. Take a listen as we ROFL to a pretty creepy but certainly interesting story!
